Skillsets
Facing adversity is a spice best suited to the palates of the strong. Skillsets don’t require any special training to perform, but may be enhanced in a variety of ways.
Developer’s Notes: Skillsets will also include all Basic Actions any character may perform. This index is expected to be completed by August 15th.
Basic Skills
The basic skill systems include many of the actions and effects inherent in all characters. These light mechanics bring simple processes for handling common scenarios which help diversify gameplay potential without creating complex or isolated sets of expertise.
Basic Combat Actions
All of the Basic Combat Actions may be used by any character who meets the requirements to do so. These requirements tend to be simple, such as having a weapon in hand, or boasting a shield. Actions and Effects from Effect Trees are typically much stronger, but sometimes we have to pick up an item we are unfamiliar with and handle business.
Basic Routines
Our basic Routines cover some of the gritty and often time consuming table events and create a platform for the simple things in life. Slice of Life is an excellent addition to any campaign for a session. These platforms allow us to either automate and hand wave the time it takes to do these things, or on the other hand provides a stage for our players to initiate the scenes of the session.
The Story Guide’s Notes
The Basic Combat Actions, Basic Routines, and Basic Skills, especially in the first ten to twenty levels, are fundamental. Many of them serve well in the hands of players who are specialized outside of the niche which some of these actions fill. Most of these have their potential greatly increased by Effect Trees. These actions are also available to all Units, Special Units, and Ultimate Units which qualify the basic requirements at the cost of 1 Action Point. It’s a good point to keep in mind if your units are shut down one way or another and have some action burn.
