The Layered Timescale

All is present,
Simultaneously,
Along the Coil,
Divided by the Ozwall.
— Ulm Anne Virrel

The Division of the Overzones

The Ozwall is an interesting phenomena. If you were to begin walking along the top of it from the beginning of the outermost coil you would see to your left Mediva, and to your right Renisans. As you reached where the outermost coil began on the second coil you’d be looking left to Renisans and right to Molthern. Another coil in Molthern to the left, and Amcel to the right. As you reach the Amcor the wall splits to circle the massive structures within. From outside the coil, the wall is nothing but a circle. An illusion, maybe, as all of the coils are overlapping Timescales.

If instead of walking the Ozwall, you walked along the ground, along the highways or dirt paths. You would cross all of this land without ever leaving the Overzone from where you began your journey. Only when truly in the Amcor, only during Midnight in Vaia, does the Ozwall, and the coil exist in its true state. Each district extended outward the preserved state of life throughout the times of the empire. And in these preserved states, the ultimate system for control plays out in the infinite recoiling of the Vorcrux.

How Layered Timescale Functions Mechanically

We treat them as locations on a map. Travelling to them requires transitioning through the moonwalk. Monumental moments may be documented in later timescales. Areas which were wiped out for one reason or another are resettled with new cities, new peoples. The butterfly effect is the pen against the sword and a mainstay for the evolution of campaigns.

Every experience is an outcome of a probability of adjustment, and the one true timescale will always be Amcor. The Ulm will always endeavor to return all of the timescales back to their original passages, unless the change in the timescale truly prevents the Vorcrux.

Not all parties will travel through the multiple timescales. The campaign may be timelocked, only with elements of the other Overzones implemented to continue the spur of mysteries forward.

The Story Guide

Over the last century of my life, I have had the honor to witness wonders. Through this written language on the superior technology of print where my words remain unmenaced, I share experiences.
