Mechanical Weight

Mechanical Weight is used to determine unit weight for the purpose of Max Lift and Load Weight when called for in Actions and Effects. This non-variable nature is used to solve for Load against balance within the system. A Character’s Weight may be whatever they choose within the weight ratio, but their Mechanical Weight will not change unless altered by an overriding effect. Mechanical Weight is different depending on type. Weapons, Armor, and Units are classified in different ranges.

Mechanical Weights for Units

10 Load | x-Small

25 Load | Small

50 Load | Medium

100 Load | Large

150 Load | X-Large

200 Load | XX-Large

300 Load | XXX-Large

500 Load | Huge

1000 Load | X-Huge

2500 Load | XX-Huge

5000 Load | XXX-Huge

10,001+ Load | Massive

Mechanical Weights for Weapons

Featherlight Weapons are always less than 0.5 Load. (0.4 is the maximum)

Light Weapons range between 0.5 to 0.9 Load

Standard Weapons range between 1 to 1.9 Load

Heavy Weapons range between 2 to 2.9 Load

Massive Weapons begin at 3 and the upper limit is usually considered to be 10 Load.

Mechanical Weights for Armor

Armor weights scale based on their materials, and each set of materials for armor come with their own mechanical adjustments. When wearing Armor it counts against the Every Day Carry value.

If you stumbled here by accident, that’s all gravy. We use these pages in our archives as templates, style guides, reference content, and reusable assets. I’m also getting to write the FAQ, which is fun.
