Requirements: Level 1

Cat’s Paw

Celerity: +1 Action Slot

Range: 10 Tiles, Line of Sight.

Target: You choose one Ally, that Ally becomes the Cat’s Paw. The Cat’s Paw must be willing. Roleplaying is encouraged from both participants.

Effect: When you perform an Action which causes damage, all Enmity of that Action is placed on the Cat’s Paw who both you and your Subject(s), Target(s), or Victim(s) must be able to sense. Your Subject(s), Target(s), or Victim(s) will treat the Cat’s Paw as the one who caused the damage.

Regardless of how Threat is managed, the Subject(s), Target(s), or Victim(s) will not Target the Activator, and will treat them as if they do not exist until the next Full Round.

Cat’s Paw automatically fails if there are no Allies in range to Activate the Action on.

If using Threat Gauge, this Effect Maxes the Threat Gauge the Subject(s), Target(s), or Victim(s) have towards the Cat’s Paw until the end of the next Full Round.

Note: This mechanic is designed to change the offensive focus of Units. This effect does not dictate what Actions the Units take aside from complete aversion to attacking the Activator. This effect is not a Provocation, and will not override Provocation Effects.

The Developer

If you stumbled here by accident, that’s all gravy. We use these pages in our archives as templates, style guides, reference content, and reusable assets. I’m also getting to write the FAQ, which is fun.
