Bulwark
Those who are in excellent shape or are spurred on by given effects gain Bulwark, which is a pool of vital energy capable of shaking off damage before it even hits your armor.
The Bulwark Maximum is equal to a character’s Vitality and is consumed in place of Vitality when determining damage application, any damage left over after exceeding the Bulwark is applied to Mitigation then Vitality as normal.
Bulwark does not regenerate, but is filled by certain routines, actions, and consumables.
Bulwark returns to Zero during Extended Downtime or Somnium.
Bulwark is not an additional factor for Actions or Effects which determine Potency based on Vitality.
Bulwark can not be used in place of Vitality as a resource for Actions and Effects.
Note: Resource Cap Bulwark is typically filled by percentage of Total Vitality, but not always. If a source gives a static value of Bulwark instead of a dynamic percentage, this static value can not increase Bulwark beyond the character’s Total Vitality. Any excess is simply lost.
