While there are some scholarly types that do accomplish all the effects of Fire through fundamental understanding and expression of will, those who truly master the flames tend to be wild at heart.

First Wake of Fire

Unless you were born suffused in Elemental Spirits, for the Wake of Fire to happen you must allow a Firelight Firefly to bond with you. They may come from any source of fire. Like with any Elemental Bond, they become a part of you. A frail will of raw emotion will join in your mind.

Note: Elemental Magic may also be considered Arcane Arts. Feel free to eschew the elemental angle for other reasoning that suits the character.

Firelight [Torch]

Harmless flames engulf any or all of your body illuminating the area around you. The illumination can go from the dim light of a candle to a bright torch that bathes up to Sphere: 3 in light.

Effects

Activation: As the Firelight inside you is of its own will, it may activate without the use of your Action Slots. As a will of its own, it has 1 Action Slot each Full Round.

Illuminate: Bathe up to 3 Tiles in every direction centered on you in gentle Firelight. It may seem as if part or all of you is on fire, but yields no heat. Adjusting Illuminate takes Firelight 1 Action Slot, and the change takes the Full Round.

Ignite: Firelight becomes like a match, gathering together within 3 Tiles of you to set fire to a Flammable object. During Ignite, Illuminate will dim and be at the location of what it is setting on fire. Ignite is a Within Reason Effect.

 

Set on Fire

Firelight heats up to combustible temperatures in only a few seconds, somewhere between 210-400°C, 410-752°F, and engulfs the Tile adjacent to you. Dealing initial damage equal to potency, then ongoing damage at upkeep equal to potency for the next 4 upkeeps.

Action Slots: (3AS|4RS|5FP)
Mental Stress: (v:4)

AoE - Specified Engulf: One Adjacent Tile
Damage - Scorching: Initial (Potency), Ongoing 4 (Potency).


Oakening: Set on Fire improves Fire [i] Oakening up to 5.

  • Each use of Set on Fire on a hostile Victim increases Fire [i] Oakening by 1.
