Core Effect Tree; Only Available at Awakening

Life is suffering. A tenant barrowed from ancient sages. Pain is unavoidable, but those who practice healing are raised above the common. Sought after by all with ailments and disease. Doctors are either too expensive or too busy and true empaths, true healers, are so rare as to be a mere myth among the impoverished.

Awakening: Did you sacrifice your own flesh to heal another? Did you say the words that soothe? Well, words have gotten out. The people know you heal, they come to you in their pains, in their suffering. Do you leave them to suffer? Do you heal them?

You took up on yourself the pain of others. They’ve noticed.

 

The Toll

A hundred years ago if you didn’t join one of the many churches as an empath they’d have called you a necromancer. The line between healer and master of the dead is as thin as a stand of hair.

Choosing Hunter & Gatherer as your core effect tree grants you four talents.

  • Wordsake: Heal

  • The Giving Sacrifice

  • Conjure: Water

  • Hmc, Hmm

The Talents unlock their Root Effects after three uses.

Wordsake: Heal

“Heal” said perfectly as a command.

Action Speed: 3AS|3RS|3FP

Range: 10m, 30ft

Effect: Subject regains (v:4 + Strength) Hit Points

Vocal Stress: (v:6)

Notes: If you can’t speak, you can’t activate Wordsake: Heal, if you are near mute, range is reduced to 1.524m, 5ft.

Mastery unlocks Healing Word

 

Conjure: Water

You create a fountain of water from a floating orb that cannot be summoned inside of a container. The water can be hot or chilled, but not scalding or frozen.

Activation: 2AS|3RS|5FP per Orb Summoned

Range: Up to 10m or 30ft. Orbs that go outside range dissipate. Any orb you have summoned may be moved anywhere in your range with 1 Action Slot, only one Orb may be moved at a time.

Effect: You summon an orb that may pour water at approximately 1 gallon per minute. The orb can last up to 15 minute before needing to be recast. You may maintain up to 5 orbs at a time.

Range: Adjacent Touched Subject

You may pay any amount of health to Instantly Heal a touched target by the same amount that was paid.

  • Unwilling Targets can not resist this effect

  • This is considered a Healing ability, and does not affect mechanical beings.

Ultimate Sacrifice: You may pay your last Hit Point and accept Permanent Death to heal your target to full health and provide a Refreshing Barrier that Instantly Heals all damage dealt to the subject for 12 Full Rounds. This healing will not prevent death from instant death effects.

Hmc, Hmm

The clearing of the throat is a telltale sign one will soon speak.

Action Speed: 2 Action Slots

Effect: Hmc, Hmm ends your characters active Wordsake Effects and Reduces Vocal Stress by One.

Limitations: Hmc, Hmm may only be used once per Full Round and is unusable during Mute or Near Mute.
