Oh, You’re a shopaholic? Oh no. Hide my pocket book. But really?! Those with Oniomania tend to be hoarders or collectors or just impulsive buyers.

Shopping SPREE!

Whenever you are involved in a Shop & Buy Routine, you spend an additional (v:100%) Credits or Stamps. The Story Guide then looks at the value spent, and adds items in that price range to your items acquired from your shopping list.

A Bargain, or a Steal?

The added items may be regular stuff on the list, maybe you decided to buy a few extra for a discount? This is probably the easiest resolution.

A character with Oniomania should be rewarded with shiny occasionally. They cross a merchant with something interesting or find a new shop and score a little scene with the shopkeeper who gives them a heavy discount in hopes the character returns.

Maybe they end up with worthless junk or a cute plushie? Who knows?! Maybe among all that junk is a hidden treasure. Trinkets are nice, too. Oniomaniacs may also end up being hoarders. That’s a different story.

No matter what, when they go shopping it costs (v:100%) more, and they get more than they went for. Maybe the Story Guide gives them a few options. Maybe in their impulsiveness they simply got what was on the list but didn’t pay attention to the price gougers.

However you resolve this, it is nearly impossible to mention shopping around this character and not have them tag along spending extra… every single time.
