Rolling With It

Many Story Guides focus on creating situations and crafting narrative by consequence. The player explores their boundaries based in the agency provided by their Lordock, Species, Copse Clusters (Class Actions), and any other effects they have access to through character growth.

What Happens Next?

When what a player can do is plainly on the chart per say, they have the confidence to attempt within those system mechanics. Not every situation is handled by mechanics, though I am sure somewhere out there you can find someone or other who has made a framework at least to handle any and nearly every situation.

Take action more than theorize above the table. The how should we do this question should be in character as much as many players enjoy the above table plotting. Taking it above table excludes the setting which is often detrimental to the progression of the story.

Complex Dynamics

It is possible to have any culture we may imagine in our roleplaying world. This sometimes includes concepts we disagree with such as the various systems of oppression. On the other side of the coin we see utopian societies with strange governance. Conflicts between differences of ideas and power dynamics are a typical mainstay for most any campaign setting.

What’s more interesting is interpersonal dynamics between characters. While a fictional origin often comes mixed with the general style of the player, awareness of the lore of the setting multiplies the possibilities of the sessions.

Unfamiliar Places

Cirrus Ethereal is a new place for many. For many it will be unfamiliar, but the more you learn of the place and it’s people the better you as a Player or Story Guide may navigate it.

Cultural Adoption

Like with most applications of thought, we are all helplessly bound by our own culture. A set of common ways of thinking, traits, behaviors, rituals, traditions, architectural styles, and art in general. We are not entirely blind thanks to the strangeness of those who are very unlike us. Watching with debate of why are they doing these things and what are they thinking about it? Well. From the outside looking in we have all of our own biases. We don’t necessarily lay cuts with the analytical knife on our routines unless we’re trying to improve ourselves.

To actually adopt a culture is to live it. Cultures live beneath titles, and exploring those top level pyramidic sets of information can give you a picture of a civilization, but to actually be a part of it, you must seek the foundations of both the labors and leisure.

Sensible Object Interactions

Object interaction makes for some of the most curious possibilities. In the real world everything which exists tends to have some potential function, especially for those with a good imagination. Imagination is the exact key to a light discussion of cause and effect at the table. Every item you select for your character may have an application to any given scene your character is in.

Story Guide’s Notes:

At the table we get to experience a masterclass of improvisation. We may create any scene to fit in our characters
