Storage Spaces
Our inventories are made of Packs, Belts, Strappings, and Pockets. A character with none of these inventories can’t safely store any items that require them, within reason.
Pack
Backpacks, messenger bags, purses, and other shoulder or back resting inventory expander may be the outward appearance of the Pack Storage Space. The Pack has an item capacity and may have other effects depending on which one you have, such as Brick-In-Purse-Fu.
Belt
The various Utility Slides you can put on your belt may hold specific items, equipment, or add pocket or pack space. A belt has Five Utility Slides to work with.
We can have a lot of these. Pockets can hold many small items. Like the Pack Space, Where we are granted pockets, the description will show their limits.
Strapping
Some items or equipment may have Strapping. These items can be thrown on the character any which way. Of course let’s stay within reason here.
Limited Inventory
If you don’t have pockets you may only hold a couple of items in your hands, within reason, and maybe balance a book on your head.
In fantasies we covet our dimensional pockets. Everyone has a backpack that can somehow hold fifty torches and some random thousand potions of various flavors.
In Vaia, dimensional storage is accomplished with Portal or Gate Magic and having an actual place to store the items. The magic comes later. At first we have Limited Inventory.
Carry & Weight Limits
Load: We use Load as our weight measuring system. A load is approximately a Kilogram or about 2.20462 Pounds.
By Decimal: There are 10 Decimals in a Load. A Dec is 1/10th the weight of a single Load. Dec not usually used as a term. Items are referred to in decimal. Like 0.6, 1.1, 1.3, 7.8, 21.8 Load Weight.
We may freely carry 15 Load. This includes equipped items. We may pick up to Twenty Loads up in addition to Weight Limits for up to a minute at a time before needing Variable Checks to endure, or needing approximately thirty seconds of rest.
The importance of unique weight measurements is to simplify the weight and volume system in the game. The lightest items in the game are rounded up to 0.1 Load Weight.
