Maimed
Maimed is a Major Status Type where we track lost limbs or mental faculties. There are only a few forms of Maimed.
Disfigured
You’ve been made ugly, your wound is apparent and difficult to hide. While Disfigured you may be pitied, looked upon with disgust, or morbid interest. Depending on the nature of the Supporting Character, you’ll receive a situational adjustment to speechcraft checks.
Lost or Broken Limbs
Losing a limb affects your ability to perform certain actions. Here is a non-exhaustive list of issues which surface while maimed.
With a lost arm, you cannot use two handed weapons effectively, receiving a -2 Penalty to Accuracy Checks.
With a lost arm, you cannot use off hand weapons at all.
With a lost leg, you may only move 1 Tile during any action, and can not benefit the Momentum Status. You’re also easier to Ground. Any effect which causes knock down receives a +2 bonus to the Accuracy Check.
With two lost legs, you may only move with the Dash Action, no movement is permitted otherwise, and you can not benefit from the Momentum Status. Any effect which causes knock down receives a -2 penalty to the Accuracy Check, which is kind of nice.
There are forms of being maimed which we do not cover here, such as blindness or missing a single finger. There are many implications being maimed has on general roleplaying as well. These are in the bucket of within reason cause and effect.
