Sunpetal Flower

Common Flora

These pretty little yellow flowers have a warm and gentle glow visible at night. Large fields of them beneath fireflies look like a bed of luminous fire. Sunpetal Flowers are cultivated for their healing, lighting, and high energy properties.

Parts of a Sunpetal Flower

Sunpetal Sepal: Green and Leaflike, the Sepal protects the bud. Sunpetal Sepal is highly poisonous, causing major illness for 10 hours when consumed in low doses.

Sunpetal Petals: Yellow with fiery red veins. The healing properties of the Sunpetal Flower are found in the petals.

Sunpetal Peduncle: The Stalk & Thorns glow brightly when damaged, appearing ominously like glowing green-yellow blood.

Sunpetal Bulb, Root, Stamen, Pistil, and Pollen: During a Harvest, these parts are used to grow more Sunpetal Flowers to sustain the Cultivation Plot. There is often enough to start an additional Plot in a Greenhouse if the Character decides and has space to do so.

Flora Cultivation: Sunpetal Flower

A Cluster of Sunpetal Bulbs and a standard Greenhouse or Garden Plot are all you need to start a Sunpetal Flower Plot. A Cluster of Sunpetal Bulbs may be found at nearly any trading post for 3 to 5 Credits or Common Stamps. Knowing another Flora Cultivator can often get you a Cluster of Sunpetal Bulbs for free.

Controlled Cultivation: It takes about a week for the Bulbs to grow and be Harvestable in a Greenhouse or Garden Plot.

Wild Cultivation: If you plant them in the wild it may take up to a month or more, and if they’re not planted in late winter to early spring, they may not sprout at all.

Harvesting Sunpetal Flowers

Harvesting and preserving Sunpetal Flowers is a simple process, from crushing to powder the Flower Petals, to muddling and jarring the Stems and Thorns, and making sure you keep the Roots and Sepal removed from the Petals and Stems to prevent introducing poison to the healing mix.

Each Sunpetal Plot Harvest Produces the following Ingredients.

Powdered Sunpetal Sepal: (v:4)

Crushed Sunpetal Cutlets: (v8+5)

Muddled Sunpetal Stem: (v:6+1)
