Hephal Bovine

Fauna • Livestock

Hephal Bovine, or Mina Taurus, are small cattle which most families have two or three. The females of Hephal Bovine begin producing a small amount of milk at maturity which isn’t usually milked for drinks, but for sweet butter. They continue to produce milk throughout their adult lives. They tend to be playful and even downright mischievous. Hephal Bovines are not raised or bred for their meat, and eating them is widely considered taboo in most societies.

Caring for Hephal Bovines: Hephal Bovines need a lot of free open space. Predators typically leave them alone because even the females have sharp horns which are not filed down so they may protect themselves. The Hephal Bovines are gentle and enjoy being petted. Some of them are even demanding for attention.

Cost: A Hephal Bovine usually costs around c100 for a cow, and c2000 for a Bull.

Domicile Requirement: To keep Hephal Bovines, you must have a Livestock Pen.

Upkeep: Hephal Bovines require 15 Foraged Rations a month each to remain at a healthy weight and for the females to continue producing milk. Having a Garden or a Greenhouse automatically pays this Upkeep cost.

Routine Milking: 1 Hour

Milking a Hephal Bovine Female only takes around fifteen minutes. The milk is then taken to churn which takes an additional thirty minutes, and proper packaging takes another fifteen. The whole process takes an hour and produces a decent daily amount of preserved Hephal Butter.
