Celerity: Throwing a Bunch of Caltrops takes 2 Action Slots or 2 Reserved Slots.

Celerity: Spreading a Bunch of Caltrops takes 3 Action Slots or 3 Reserved Slots, but may be done simultaneously with Movement Abilities.

Range (Throw): 10 Tiles

Range (Spread): 1 Adjacent Tile

Target (Throw): A successful (v:20) Accuracy Check against a Target’s Evasion.

If targeting a Tile or inanimate object, the Check is equal to the number of Tiles thrown.

Missing the target still coats a nearby Tile or Object in Caltrops, at the judgement of the Story Guide.

When a Victim moves across a Tile coated by Caltrops, they take (v:4) damage and gain the Foot Staked Enfeeblement.

If they had the Momentum Buff, they fall prone into the next Tile and roll (v:4) Tiles farther.

Rolling or Falling Prone on a Tile coated in Caltrops causes (4v:4) damage.

Foot Staked: A Caltrop, Stake, Nail, Bear Trap, or similar item is lodged in your foot. Removing the item(s) takes 2 Action Slots, 2 Reserved Slots, or an Action Point and causes (v:4) damage. While Foot Staked, all Movement costs 1 Additional Action Slot, and every Tile moved causes (v:4) damage. Foot Staked Stacks increases damage taken when moving or removing the item(s) by an additional (v:4).

Leaving a Tile Coated in Caltrops requires 1 Additional Action Slot, Reserved Slot, or Action Point to do so without taking damage and getting Foot Staked.

Description (Throw): Hitting a Target with Caltrops causes them (v:8+ Raw Potency) Damage and Coats the Tile they’re occupying with Caltrops.

Caveats: For every size above mid the victim of Caltrops is, the Caltrops take (v:8) Durability damage when activated. (Large (v:8)) (Huge (2v:8)) etc. (Massive (Destroyed)) They still deal their initial damage and apply 1 stack of Foot Staked.

Recovering the Caltrops:

Collecting the Caltrops takes a Full Minute per Bundle.

Each time you collect caltrops from a bundle they lose (v:8) Durability.

You may purchase a Bell Magnet to recover your Caltrops quickly.

Using a Bell Magnet reduces the amount of time to recover the Caltrops to 1 Full Round and reduces Durability lost to (v:4).

A Bell Magnet typically costs 20 Credits.

Note: Caltrops are considered Tipped Weapons for the purpose of Poison Coating.

Base Recipe: 5 Growth Points

Routine Standard Craft: 2 Hours per Bundle

Materials: Each Bundle of Caltrops requires 10 Scrap.


Leaf Effects

Requirements: Craft: Caltrops must be unlocked to grow any of the following Leaf Effects

Barbed

Growth Points: 10

Barbed Caltrops now deal (v:10 x Focal Potency) Damage when removed per Stack. Removal Destroys the Caltrop, Reducing the Bundle’s Durability by 1.

Perfect Shape

Growth Points: 10

When you craft a Bundle of Caltrops, you do so in a way where they spread out farther. The Perfect Shape Bundle of Caltrops will no spread out over 3 Tiles starting adjacent to you. As long as they are consecutive, you may fashion them in any arrangement of the 3 Tiles. (Straight Line, L-Shaped, or Diagonal).
