All who come and all who go are puppets on strings whose master no one knows.
Character creation is broken down into seven distinct, sequential steps, each corresponding to a sub-section below. You must complete the steps in the order presented as choices made in earlier steps will influence options available in later ones. Your Story Guide may restrict these options.
Navigating the Steps
Species: Determine your character's species. This choice determines your educational background, innate traits, inheritance, and cultural ties to the Overzones.
Faction: Select one of the major or minor power players your character is affiliated with. Your Faction associates your character to political and moral alignment in the brewing conflict. Factions grant additional items, potentially adding Domicile options, and Specialized Training which unlocks your Faction Effect Tree. Factions also provide ongoing support in the form of supply provisions and potential help from Non-Player Characters.
Archetype: Your chosen Archetype unlocks your Core Effect Tree. Root Effect Trees available within Archetypes are expansive and grow with your character and throughout roleplaying, combat, exploration, and world-building.
Vital Statistics: Roll or assign your character's core attributes (Strength, Agility, Awareness, and Vitality) and calculate derived stats (Hit Points, Evasion).
Domicile: Establish your character's place of origin, current location, and where they call home for now (Apartment, Barracks, Homeless). The current location Overzone's technological and political environment (Mediva, Renisans, Mol-Thern, Amcel, or Amcor) will determine what Equipment and Itemization is available to you.
Equipment: Select starting gear, weapons, and armor based on your Archetype and Domicile's technological tier, referencing the Item Index.
Itemization: Detail all starting inventory, including specific magical items, VoiD devices, or Cranial Implants allowed at character level zero and where those items are stored.
