Generic Armor
Armor is highly modular. Generic or Scrap Armors use a Scrap & Craft Routine Time formula to determine their value, resistances, and reductions. The Generic ones shown here use the Scrap Armor Craft Formula.
Scrap Armor Smith: Crafting Effect Tree
Growth Points: 10
Requires: Blacksmithing
Unlocking Armor Smith allows your to craft custom Armor to your design using the Armor Craft Formula. Scrap Armor Smith is a requirement for higher Tier Armor Smithing.
Armor Craft Formula (Scrap)
Credit Value: Generic Armor Values are Number of Hours to Craft + Scrap in either Credits or Common Stamps.
Resistances: All Armor has a base of 50% Resistance to Raw Damage and 10% Resistance to Contusional, Incisional, and Puncturing Damage. Armor can not provide more than 50% Resistance against any type of damage. These are the absolute minimum values for Resistances.
Each 5% of Resistance costs 1 Scrap.
Reductions: Damage Reduction is increased by 1 for every 5% of Damage Resistance. Once Damage Resistance is maxed out at 50%, Damage Reduction may still be increased to a maximum of 15 Damage Reduction.
Each point of Damage Reduction costs 2 Scrap. (This cost only begins after Resistance is Maxed Out)
Durability: For every Scrap used crafting an Armor, the Armor’s Durability is increased by 10. For every Hour spent crafting the armor, Durability is increased by 5.
Weight: For every Scrap used crafting an Armor, the Armor’s Weight is increased by 0.1.
Minimum Craft - Ultra Light Armor: The absolute bare minimum weight Scrap Armor may be.
Routine Standard Craft: The Maximum number of hours a Scrap Armor may be refined is 20. This is 5 Full days of Crafting with the Routine Hours. For every 4 Scrap Required to make the Armor you’re crafting, Crafting Scrap Armor takes 1 Hour. (This makes the minimum time to craft 5 Hours, see Ultra Light Armor)
Notes: Other materials which are heavier or lighter will use different formulas.

Development Notes: Mechanically, when getting hit by an attack which causes Raw Damage, Contusional Damage, Incisional Damage, or Puncturing Damage, once the Potency of the Action is determined, the Potency is then reduced by the Damage Resistance percentage, then further reduced by the Damage Reduction. All this damage is then applied to the Armor’s Durability. The remaining Potency is then reduced by any Natural Mitigation Resistance or Flat Mitigation. Once all of this has been figured, the Potency remaining creates an Injury Card with the remaining Damage, and that damage is applied to Hit Points.
We know it is complicated. Is it fun? Smiles in Tank.
Any Math you practice, you’ll get real good at.
